Floss requirements using two strands of standard 6-ply floss:
14ct Aida/28ct linen or evenweave - 126.6 meters plus a short length of white floss

18ct Aida/32ct linen or evenweave - 102.4 meters (51.2 meters if using one strand) plus a short length of white floss
Note: One skein of DMC 6 strand cotton floss is 8 meters (8.7 yards)
All backstitches are designed to be worked with a single strand.
White backstitches are used on top of the main color in various parts of the design, i.e., the little boy's fishing net in the upper left hand corner.
This design uses some intricate backstitching in the main color. For those that shy away from backstitching, look closely at the pattern cover page model you will receive; the backstitching is shown in black. It appears some main color backstitching can be eliminated without effecting the overall 'look' of the design. However, this a up to each individual stitcher's preference and backstitching tolerance.
